The Hermit

"The path to truth is often a path of solitude."

The Hermit is the "father of time". He sheds a light that attracts, gives hope, inspires and encourages; he sets things in motion, sees paths where others see none and finds ways where none existed before. The time has come to withdraw into yourself and make sure of what you really want, what is truly right and important – and only then begin to act. Don't let anyone influence you. You need to find your own way without too much regard for those around you. You can draw on the inner strength you carry within. The Hermit's candle lights the way and is at the same time a light for others who seek truth and wisdom. He can tell opposites apart – light and shadow. Look for the light, or for a person with the Hermit's gifts, to illuminate your path. The cloak stands for protection and the staff for power, which is your weapon and your support. This is the card of "higher wisdom".
